The Texas Radio Hall of Fame announces the names of the inductees who will be honored in San Antonio on Saturday, October 30th at the San Antonio Radisson Hill Country Resort and Spa

Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas, August 10, 2004 – The Texas Radio Hall of Fame, (www.texasradiohalloffame.com), announced today the names of the individuals who will be honored at the Texas Radio Hall of Fame 2004 Induction Celebration in San Antonio on Saturday, October 308.  The list of those who will be honored reads like a who's who of Texas broadcasting.  Most are well-known throughout the United States and around the world as well.

The location of the event will be the San Antonio Radisson Hill Country Resort and Spa. (click here for hotel information) Previous year’s induction celebrations were held in Fort Worth and Houston.  Over 300 celebrants attended the sold out celebrations in previous years.

Texas Radio Hall of Fame Chairperson, Jo Interrante, said, "The 2004 inductees and instatees represent the very best of Texas broadcasting.  We look forward to honoring them in San Antonio on October 30th."

*Being instated into The Hall of Honor is a special recognition of those who have made both significant and notable contributions to radio in many different areas. Those members of the Hall of Honor remain highly eligible to be inducted into the Hall of Fame next year and in upcoming years.

The TRHoF board of elected officers are Ms. Jo Interrante of Dallas (chairperson), Mr. Tom Glade of San Antonio (vice chairperson), Mrs. Ann Arnold of Austin (secretary) and Mr. Larry Shannon (treasurer and executive director). The board members are Chuck Dunaway, Ken Dowe, Chuck Blore, Al Caldwell, Paul Berlin, Clint Formby, Eddie Barker, Kent Burkhart, Audrey Malkan, Steve Hicks, Jim Phillips, Larry Shannon and Bill Young.  Their biographies are available online at www.texasradiohalloffame.com/newsreleasenov13.html 

Radio broadcasters, both living and deceased, who are currently or were employed in Texas at some time during their broadcast careers are eligible for induction into the Texas Radio Hall of Fame. Categories for induction include Air Personality (DJ), Talk Show Personality, Newsperson, Sportscaster, Weathercaster, Station Owner, Station Manager, Sales Manager, Programmer and Engineer.

Each card-carrying TRHoF Premier voting member, those who have been inducted and instated may nominate potential inductees. Once the nominating ballots have been received, verified and approved, the members vote for their choices by mailed-in, secret paper ballot. Inductees are announced as soon as the votes are tabulated and the inductees are verified and approved by the board of directors.

Texas Radio Hall of Fame voting memberships are available to anyone who has an interest in radio, both those who currently reside in Texas and those who are not fortunate enough to currently reside in the Kingdom of TexasThe Voting Membership fee is $15. Memberships may be purchased online via secure credit card transaction or by check at www.texasradiohalloffame.com/inductionspecial.html 

Voting members receive a wallet-sized membership card and a certificate of membership (suitable for framing and display) bearing their name and membership number.

Those who are inducted and instated receive lifetime memberships, nominating and voting privileges.
