Bob Cole When he was 14, Bob Cole's first job in radio was in Miami where he emptied trash baskets and got coffee for his boss. But things got better when moved to Houston and worked on the air. Eventually he settled into the morning radio chair at KVET, and since 1989, he's been in management but has always been on the air.

In addition to his highly rated radio show, Bob owns or is a partner in 3 restaurants in the Austin area, and he serves as master of ceremonies at community events like the Armed Forces Tribute Day in Giddings and fundraisers like the Boys and Girls Club luncheon. He has a long list of citations for volunteerism and membership in community boards. He makes many appearances at work-related events and private parties for high-profile people around town. Friends say that Bob doesn't know how to turn people down -- and he does all of this on just 5 hours of sleep a night. Bob Cole was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame for radio in 2003 and he's won countless awards related to his radio work, including Broadcast Personality of the Year in 1980, 1996 and 2006 by the Country Music Association.
