Bob Morrison Bob Morrison's first paying job was at the "Mighty Eleven Ninety" KLIF. He drove a Dodge van that flashed out news headlines from a lighted sign --a sort of mobile Times Square "traveling headlines" sign -- Bob eventually got on the air when the news dept. ran low on available newsmen to cover a traffic accident.
The legendary names with whom he
worked at "Big Cliff" included many Texas Radio Hall of Fame
honorees (and many yet to be recognized): Ken Dowe (and Granny
Emmy!), Jimmy Rabbit, Paxton Mills, "Hal Martin" (the late
Bob Morrison's resume includes both the ABC and RKO Radio Networks in New York and call letters KHJ in Los Angeles News Director at CBS News-Talk station KRLD. He worked with legendary Texas Radio Hall of Famer Ron Chapman at KVIL as well as 2006 Texas Radio Hall of Famer Jody Dean, and other honorees: Peggy Sears, Larry Dixon, Jack Schell and Jo Interrante. Bob says he can never thank Ron Chapman enough for his years at KVIL FM. Bob's turn as News Director at KNUS 99FM left behind a UPI Best Major Market Newscast in Texas Award in the award case. He also served as News Director for KLTY and for 6 years at KCBI. He received Associated Press awards for KOJO and KCBI. Most recently, he led USA Radio Network's team of broadcast journalists in the position of News and Sports Director. His work has won numerous awards and has been recognized over the years by the Associated Press, United Press International and the Press Club of Dallas -- including the prestigious Katie Award for Best Major Market Newscast two months after 9/11 and again in 2004 and 2005. AT WFAA Radio, Bob worked with Bert Shipp and teamed up with longtime dear friend, and fellow 2008 Texas Radio Hall of Fame nominee, Dave Cooke.
Bob is a member of both the Press
Club of Dallas and the Radio-TV News Director's Association. He also
served on the Board of Directors of the Texas AP Broadcasters
