Bruce Hathaway says that the best years of his life were with Gordon McLendon and KTSA radio. He calls it his "golden years" and the years of real personalities and entertainment as well as radio then being a true companion to the listener.

Bruce's on-air days in the 60's and 70's at KTSA at one time were shared with other personalities who included Robert Lopez, Lee Randall, Charlie Brown, John Wagner, Ron Richards and Danny O'Dell.

Bruce says that he had the honor of working with such greats as Bob Hope, ZZ Top, George Strait, Willie Nelson and Garth Brooks, Paul Revere and the Raiders. In fact, Raider Keith Allison was the best man at Bruce's wedding.

Bruce appeared on TV mc'ing the show, "Swingtime." He was voted South Texas' most popular DJ by the South Texas Appliance Association. Bruce recently said that he loves the people of radio and loves the radio jobs he's had, adding that he receives a lot of pleasure when someone takes time out of their busy day to tell him how much fun and entertainment they received from his time on the air.

Now, Bruce continues to attend and participate in many and varied civic events and fundraisers. It's his way of saying thanks to San Antonio and South Texas.
