Clarence Bruyere
Instated into the Hall of Honor 2006

The radio roads have taken Clarence Bruyere from his birthplace in Waco, to Paschal High School in Fort Worth as well as the Port Arthur Radio College and Texas Christian University. His earliest engineering days were spent at Consolidated Vultee Aircraft where he was a radio and electronics inspector, literally creating that department.

Clarence revealed that he did have an opportunity to work at Elliot Roosevelt's KBST radio in Big Springs, but his enthusiasm quickly turned to reality and he turned down the job when he found out he'd have to pedal his bicycle through the East Texas deep and shifting sands on a dirt road between the studio and transmitter for 40 cents an hour.

WFAA Radio in Dallas called and Clarence became a studio engineer. He was responsible for engineering such legendary radio programs as "The Early Birds Show" and "Saturday Night Shindig." Another of his many duties was to feed the "Texas Quality Network" with broadcasts of the Dallas Power and Light Orchestra and Dallas Symphony.

During his remarkable engineering career at WFAA, he engineered and managed for the "WFAA Commercial Audio Recording" company. There, he worked with a large number of successful advertising agencies and record companies like Columbia Records and Word Records.

Technology advanced and the very able Clarence Bruyere was soon called upon to handle audio engineering for WFAA Television.

Clarence and Margaret Bruyere are the parents of the Karen and the late Raymond Bruyere and they're the proud grandparents Natalie Diane and great-grandparents of Jayden Christian.

Clarence is a past member of the Audio Engineering Society and is a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason and member of Hella Shrine.
