2004 Inductee

Dan McCurdy
A "Charlie and Harrigan" Team Member

 * Born in the "home of Texas DJs" - Tyler, TX
 * Dan's first exposure on radio came in high school when he was asked to be a "guest DJ" at KSAM in Huntsville
 * Worked at KRBC in Abilene while attending college
 * In 1963, the call came from "The Mecca of Texas Radio," KLIF in Dallas. After pulling the midnight to dawn spot for a year using the air-name Dan Patrick, he auditioned for the part of Charlie Brown after the departure of the original CB, Jack Woods. He was selected to partner with Ron Chapman on the "Charlie and Harrigan Show" in 1964
 * Hired by WMEX in Boston, MA where he did morning drive, returning to Dallas "as soon as he could" according to McCurdy.
 * Hired by Irene Runnels at KBOX, he did the morning show for a year, using the name Dan Patrick again.
 * Went to The Stanford Agency, the in-house ad agency for 7-Eleven Stores in 1967, and has been in advertising and PR since that time
 * Now Director of Communication for Town & Country Stores, a 150-outlet convenience store company with stores in Central Texas, West Texas and Eastern New Mexico. He has been in this ad/PR position for 11 years with Town & Country Stores, and claims that it is the "best gig" he's ever had. At the same time, he admits that he has missed radio and the DJ scene "every day since 1967"
